I was always one of those students that hated quietness- I found it extremely distracting when I was studying or taking a test. It is probably because the slightest sound of a chair scraping or a pencil scratching on the paper would draw my attention to the irritating noises that filled the classroom and my mind.
I find a lot of students like to listen to music as they read/study. Some teachers are against this- they do not understand that quietness is just as troublesome for some students as a noisy room is for others.
Now my choice of study music used to be hip-hop (hardcore, loud, and ratchet) or go-go. It's because I would not focus on the lyrics; I was strictly zoning out the music.
Today, I still zone out to the same type of music. However, when I am studying, I have the best results when I tune into the right frequency of sound.
Remember when they said that we should study to classical music? Or that classical music was good for the baby? (and let's clarify, I am referring to European classical music).
There is a scientific basis for that statement- it has to do with sound harmonics.

Let's take a step back:
Remember when we learned that everything in the world is made of matter? (Remember your etymology- matter has the same root as material. It also relates to mother, which we will discuss in the another post.) We presume that matter is something that cannot be debated- it just is.
Matter is nothing but vibration- it is the force that originates from the mind (not the brain, which is the physical material). Everything in the world vibrates on a particular frequency. Anything that is physical vibrates at the lowest frequency. That is why it appears still. But that table where you eat or the road on which you drive are also vibrating. Nothing in the universe is stationary. If we amplify the frequency, the structure of matter will change. Thus, the substance of the universe is not matter, but consciousness/thought.
Sound is also a vibration. It vibrates at a higher frequency than matter, thus we cannot physically see it. When I say vibration, I refer to waves of pressure that move at a particular speed. The faster it moves, the higher the frequency. Visually, it looks like wave patterns. The larger the waves, the lower the frequency. The smaller and tighter the waves, the higher frequency

There are certain sounds that have a poor frequency, and cause disharmony to our bodies and minds. Think about it. When you hear a good hip hop song, sometimes you get hype. When you hear a good R&B song, you are mellow. And when you hear religious music, you often feel elevated. Not because of the words only, but because of the actual music.
Unfortunately, most of the music we hear today of a low frequency. Again, this has nothing to do with lyrics. It is about the science of sound frequency.
Our music is on a frequency of 440 Hz- this is the norm for music all around the world, endorsed by the International Standards Organization (ISO) in 1953. Prior to this, however, the standard frequency for music was 428 Hz.
Doesn't seem like it makes a big difference to the unassuming. It is- allow me to explain.
The on the scale, the sound called A was original 432 Hz, known as Verdi’s ‘A’ is an alternative tuning that is mathematically consistent with the universe. Music based on 432 Hz transmits beneficial healing energy, because it is a pure tone of math fundamental to nature.
Today, A=440 Hz; the whole scale is thrown out of wack.
Below are a couple of videos to further explain and support this idea.

Music and sound are used to control our thinking and put us in a state of fear and reliance. Let's take back our minds and consciousness. When studying, it is best to listen to hi frequency music. This is often found in music that is arranged based on what is titled Solfeggio Tones. There are meditations that one can take part in centered around the Solfeggio Tones (all of which are based on the correct sound frequency for consciousness and expansion). Remember, our thoughts create our reality.
Below are a couple of links and videos to said meditations and healing tones. Listen to these daily, as it is one step to clear your mind of negativity, doubt, confusion, and fear. This is the path to developing a Cultivated Mind.
